Monster of the Week

From Ultima Online Forever Wiki
A preview of the cloth and statues of several different Monster of the Week rewards.

Description

The Monster of the Week is a type of creature / monster that has a chance of dropping a high-end rares such as skill scrolls, relics and more. As you may have guessed, the monster changes every week! This may seem familiar to its predecessor Monster of the Month, but this has a brand new player driven raffle system for selecting the following weeks monster. How this system will work is as you kill monsters labeled "Monster of the week" you may find a drop called a "Monster of the week redemption token"

What this token scroll will allow you to do is vote each week on a raffle-type system on what the following week's monster should be for the entirety of that week.

You will be able to vote as many times as you want, all you need is the tokens. Each Sunday at around 8pm EST the votes will tally up as a raffle and the new monster of the week will be announced server wide. They are sellable/tradeable. Once a monster has been chosen, that same monster cannot be chosen again for (3) weeks. Each monster choice has their own new unique hue and other rares.

Announcements

The current monster of the week can be found anytime by visiting Atta the Ecologist and double clicking on him. This will give you a message that states the current Monster of the Week along with a picture of the monster. Atta the Ecologist is located near the West Britain Bank(WBB).

New Loot System

This loot system allows us to update any type of loot on any monster on the fly without reboots or coding right across the board.

We are implementing a new Item Rarity System which will display rarity of items on the following scale:

  • Junk
  • Poor
  • Common
  • Uncommon
  • Magical
  • Rare
  • Epic
  • Legendary
  • Mythical
  • Artifact
  • Relic
  • Celestial

Based on the rarity there will be different colors that are displayed. If you play other popular MMOs this is probably not a foreign concept to you. With exception of a few items we will not be adding Item Rarities to previous items until AFTER the rising expansion is completely finished. We will be taking suggestions for item rarities, to be implemented at a later date.

Rewards

In addition to their normal loot, the Monster of the Week can drop:

Slayer Statues

Monsters of the Week have a chance to drop Soul Gems—shimmering fragments containing the trapped essence of the beast itself. Collect 50 Soul Gems and you’ll be rewarded with a Slayer Chest, holding a statue of the monster.

MOTW Cloth Turn-In

Got extra MOTW cloth you don’t want? Does Peruvian silk got you down? The two-headed truffle cloth got you going “YUCK!”? Well we have the solution for you!!!

Hop on down to the Buccaneer’s Outfitters (in Buccaneer's Den), where you can upgrade your unwanted cloth with our special dye vats!

Find the dye cauldron that corresponds to the cloth you would like to exchange, then double click it with a stack of 5 uncut cloth in your pack. Your character will toss the bundle in and pull out 1 freshly dyed cloth in return.

Be warned, these dyes are highly corrosive. They’ll chew through most of what you throw in. Five go in, one comes out…

A friendly notice from management: Buccaneer’s Outfitter is located on Buccaneer’s Den where crime is rampant. We are not responsible for any theft, murder, or bodily harm that may occur while browsing our fine selection. Shop at your own risk… and maybe watch your back.
