Migrating to ForeverOnline Client

UO Forever is moving to a state where only one client is allowed, ForeverOnline. When you launch the game from the UO Forever launcher, this is the default client. However, if you are still using an older client and need to migrate, here are the instructions to do so:

Record Character Serial Number

1. Log in to the game using the ForeverOnline client.
2. Type -info into the game chat
3. Target your character (not the life bar)
4. A gump will appear. Scroll down until you see "Serial". Write down that number as that is a unique number for the character you are logged in as.

Locate your character's old files:

1. Navigate to the folder with the old client files, for example: C:\Program Files (x86)\UOForever\UO\Forever\Data\Profiles\YourAccountName\UOForever\YourCharacterName
2. Copy all files from the character folder

Locate your character's new files:

1. Navigate to the folder with the new client files, for example: C:\Program Files (x86)\UOForever\UO\ForeverOnline\Data\Profiles\UOForever
2. Find the folder that matches the serial number you wrote down earlier
3. Paste the files from your old character folder into the new folder

Voila!

Repeat the above steps for all characters. If you have in-game spell macros like "Cast energy bolt", you will have to redo those macros in the new client.

Note: This is about the client and has nothing to do with which assistants are allowed.
