This update brings a brand-new visual-effects engine to the enhanced client, awakens the Meta Spider’s battle Instincts, hands housing-instance owners real management tools, and clears out a batch of long-standing annoyances. Here’s what’s new.

A New Look for Combat & the World

We’ve added a huge library of visual effects that you’ll start seeing across new content:

• Screen effects — impactful shockwaves, screen shakes, colour flashes, and cinematic fades during big moments.
• Atmospheric looks — heat-haze shimmer, murky underwater wobble, night-vision, and glowing bloom — some areas will now feel different the moment you step in.
• Creature effects — glowing auras and flames, motion trails on fast movers, colour tints, cloaked shimmer, and dramatic dissolves.
• Particle emitters — items and creatures can now sparkle, smoke, and glow — a decorated weapon glimmers in your hand and in your pack.
• Projectile trails — spells and boss attacks now fly with glowing tails, streaks, and particle trails.

These effects shine on the Forever Online Client. On the classic client the game plays exactly as before — but it’s a great time to try the new client!

Meta Spider: Awaken Your Instincts

The Meta Spider can now awaken a set of Instincts using a Broodmother’s Instinct (dropped by the Broodmother, among other sources). Once awakened, choose one of four battle stances — switch them any time to match the fight:

• Venomous — poison bites and venom globs that leave toxic puddles.
• Carapace — strikes back with homing venom when your spider is hit.
• Digesting — every bite shortens your spider’s other ability cooldowns.
• Mending — steadily regenerates health and heals from its bites.

Every stance scales with your spider’s evolution stage, so they grow stronger as your spider does.

Housing Instance Owner Tools

• A new in-game Owner Menu for Enhanced Flagged instances lets you manage every house inside your housing instance — reclaim, transfer, or demolish (with a safe refund to the house’s owner).
• Open placement so friends can build inside your instance — and houses placed inside an instance don’t count against your normal account house limit.
• You can now place directly on roads inside an instance (on flat, uniform stretches).
• Guest safety warning: building in, or receiving a house inside, someone else’s instance now shows a clear “the owner can reclaim this at any time” notice you must acknowledge.
• Ghosts get a free healer teleport: die inside an instance and you can instantly teleport to a healer (bringing your pets) at no cost.

Pet Quality of Life

• Gather Pets — at Grandmaster Animal Taming, call your entire pet team to your side at once (30s cooldown, not during PvP).

Fixes & Improvements

• Contract rewards now reliably deliver — and tell you exactly what you got. Rewards go to your bank, so nothing is lost to a full or over-weight pack. The misleading “no rewards” message is gone.
• Cake of Celebration eaten near the end of an event now gives you the full buff duration.
• Consumable perks no longer expire mid-use — an active perk lasts its full duration.
• Idol of Endless Forms now correctly respects its cooldown; you can’t transform through an already-open window while on cooldown.
• Champion boss rewards (relics, powerscrolls) now correctly require you to be on the same map and instance as the boss.
• Instance vendor customization — instance owners can reskin shopkeepers inside their own instance with a new Vendor Reskin Deed.

Fixes

• Fixed a race condition between plugin packets and client packets. This should reduce (and hopefully eliminate) issues such as items becoming invisible and other synchronization problems
• Added additional logging to help identify and diagnose desynchronization issues
• Fixed the paperdoll graphic for female NPCs
• Fixed the pulse animation speed on talisman ability icon borders
• Added new visual effects that will be used in the future
