This new patch is the result of our new community developer Stalli.
Display & Window
- The game window now opens maximized automatically.
- Fixed the client window not snapping back into view if it was saved off screen.
- Fixed bug where logging out could leave your screen looking zoomed in with parts of the UI missing.
- Fixed clicks landing slightly off on the login and character select screens on high resolution displays.
- Fixed the cursor’s blue border and rescaling issues.
Paperdoll
- The paperdoll now shows more equipment slots. They were also rearranged more logically.
- Equipped items now layer and hide each other correctly instead of overlapping visually.
Targeting, bandages and movement
- Sallos targeting has been fixed, it now properly scans for the nearest valid target in range and prefers human enemies the way it is supposed to.
- BandageSelf has been reworked to use a single enhanced request instead of the old multi step targeting flow, so it should feel snappier and more reliable. It can be used when you have any other cursor up without interfering. Pro tip: Use this
- Fixed the rubberbanding issue where running sideways into a door with Smooth doors enabled. It will now let you through cleanly.
Inventory, trade and counter-bar
- The counter bar got a full overhaul: drag and drop rearranging, macros for using items, ignore hues, relative amounts, highlight on use, and snap to grid layout. It now also counts and uses items you are wearing or carrying, not just your backpack.
- Trade window numbers now show thousands separators
- Container highlighting is more consistent
Chat/Journal
- System chat now supports up to 500 characters and splits long messages automatically at word breaks.
Ctrl plus Backspace deletes the last word.
- Added an alternative journal option, moved journal log retention to your account wide profile.
- Added an option to log the speaker’s serial/name. (Options -> Speech -> Add speaker serial to journal entries)
- Added an option to show party chat overhead your character. (Options -> Speech -> Show party chat overhead)
Books / Spell Books
Fixed the page flip animation glitch and a typing loss bug during page flips.
House Customization
Fixed several placement issues, including more accurate per floor legality checks and a visual floor grid on the ground floor.
Visuals
- Hovering the name of corpse now highlights the name correctly, so it’s no longer a washed out version of the original color.
- The offset when double clicking the name of the corpse to open it are now correctly aligned.
- Fixed nameplate rendering, max brightness lighting, and aura blending issues.
- Weather effects no longer look out of place in large areas, damage numbers and world text are properly aligned, the color picker no longer shows a blank grid.
- The bulletin board now correctly shows 9 messages per page instead of 11.
Stability
- Fixed roughly a dozen smaller bugs across file loading and networking.
- The client now handles a corrupted last character save gracefully instead of crashing, and pathfinding now works when targeting something that is not a walkable surface.
- You can now change audio sources without losing sound and/or crashing.
- Better driver support, when external modules fails, the client would just freeze or close without a crash log. Should be less frequent/never happen.
This is a major patch with alot of complex fixes. If you notice anything that seems off after the update, please report it. Your feedback helps us identify and fix issues as quickly as possible. We hope you enjoy the improvements.
