Description

The Arms Lore skill allows a user to find the condition of an item. Mostly used on armor and weapons, the Arms Lore skill provides the condition and durability of an item.

Disarm

In conjunction with the Wrestling skill, Arms Lore allows players the toggled ability to Disarm an opponent. Wrestling and Arms Lore must be at least 80.0 real skill to attempt to Disarm an opponent.

Minimum Hit Chance

In conjunction with any Meta Talismans, Arms Lore provides an increase to a players minimum hit chance against creatures. Further information can be found on the Meta Talismans page.

Notes

Some blacksmiths believe that Arms Lore is required with Blacksmithing. You do not need Arms Lore for Blacksmithing, as it will not provide extra damage to weapons.

Hit Chance and Damage Relationship

This section explains how the updated hit chance system affects damage output.

Overview of Changes

  • Hit Chance: Now set to a flat 75%, ensuring consistent attack accuracy.
  • Damage Multiplier: The old hit chance formula now determines the damage multiplier.

The Old Hit Chance Formula

The previous system calculated hit chance based on weapon skill values, as follows:

  • Hit Chance (%) = (Your Skill + 50) / (Opponent's Skill + 50) × [Multiplier]
  • Bonuses (e.g., from items) increase this value.
  • Hit chance is capped at a minimum of 10%, unless modified by additional factors.

Impact on Damage

The hit chance percentage from the old formula now directly influences the damage multiplier:

  • A calculated hit chance of 50% results in 50% of base damage.
  • A calculated hit chance of 75% results in 75% of base damage.

Arms Lore Benefits

  • Arms Lore raises the minimum possible hit chance to 63%, ensuring at least 63% of base damage in less favorable conditions.
  • To achieve this benefit:
  • Arms Lore skill must be at 100.
  • Weapon skill value must be 100 or higher.
  • A talisman must be equipped.

This update balances consistent attack accuracy with meaningful damage scaling based on skill comparisons. For further inquiries, feel free to reach out!
