If you have 50 Resisting Spells and you're facing off against someone with 100 [[Magery]] casting Explosion, you will have ~10% chance to resist. If you have 100 Resisting Spells against the same opponent, you will have ~50% chance to resist. Resisting a damage spell results in a 50% reduction to its base damage. Spell damage is also modified by comparing your resist to your opponent's [[Evaluating Intelligence]], whether you successfully resist a spell or not.


Resisting Spells is ''not'' enhanced by any other skills but it can be complemented by maintaining the Level 5 [[Magery]] spell Magic Reflection. UO Forever exists in an era before elemental resists were introduced. Higher Resisting Spells will therefore ''not'' alter the elemental resists shown in your [[Status]].
