In the misty wilds of Sosaria, there lived Dankus Skunktongue. Known for his ever-present cloud of skunky smoke. Dankus had mastered the art of herbology… but his true passion lay in a peculiar collection of herbs he grew in secret.
These herbs weren’t just any ordinary greens. When smoked, or accidentally nibbled by a hungry critter, they unleashed psychedelic visions of dancing ogres, talking wisps, and an overwhelming sense of contentment. Oh, and they happened to be excellent for treating glaucoma — but most folk cared more about the dancing ogres.
Dankus traveled Sosaria in his funky cart, peddling his herbs to those “in need of spiritual elevation.” Oddly enough, whenever Dankus rolled into a town, local inns and taverns would see food sales triple. Entire kitchens were wiped clean of roast chicken legs, cakes, and cooked ribs, leaving only breadcrumbs and grease-stained platters behind.
One fateful afternoon, a pesky clan of orcs stumbled upon Dankus’ hidden grove. Thinking they’d struck leafy gold, the orcs harvested the herbs and passed them around to neighboring tribes. It wasn’t long before mongbats, trolls, ogres, and even a few very confused dragons were wandering into Sosarian towns, glassy-eyed, swaying, and growling about “the colors of the wind.”
The townsfolk grew weary of the constant invasions and the endless piles of half-eaten snack barrels left in the beasts’ wake.
Dankus, while mildly entertained, realized his stash was out of control. So, he sent word to the good adventurers of Sosaria:
“To those brave and munchie-resistant souls: Retrieve my liberated herbs from these dazed and confused creatures, and I shall reward you with treasures both dank and delightful!”
Beginning April 19th Blazed Beasts will begin to appear around the world. Their supply of special herbs will run out on April 28th. They have a chance to drop some dank loot!
